The Technical Committee of the Indian Drug Manufacturers' Association and the Pharmaceutical Analysts' Convention take great pleasure in conferring this prestigious award on Dr R T Sane for the sterling contributions he has made to the development of the professional skills of pharmaceutical analysts.
Dr R T Sane, Principal of the Shikshana Prasaraka Mandali's Ramnarain Ruia College, has conscientiously functioned in the capacity of a dedicated teacher and research guide during the last three decades. His outstanding academic achievements include a Ph.D. degree in Chemistry from the National University of Ireland, Dublin. The significant headway he had made in his career as a researcher found its due recognition when he was honoured with a slot in Reference Asia: Who's Who 1992. During the last twenty-five years, he has done his best to create a congenial learning environment and enhance instructional standards in many institutions in India. More than a hundred students who have received their postgraduate and doctoral degrees under his brilliant stewardship today occupy positions of high responsibility in various known pharmaceutical and other establishments.
Dr R T Sane has undoubtedly played a key role in the upgradation of the levels of knowledge and skills in Pharmaceutical Analytical Chemistry. This truly accords him the position of a pioneer in both Ruia College and the University of Mumbai. He is a known recipient of the Hind Gaurav Award for outstanding achievements in pharmaceutical analysis, and the Rotary Club Award for excellence in instituting vocational services. He has also won the coveted Indian Drug Manufacturers' Association's Award for the finest publication in Phytochemistry; and the Indian Drug Manufacturers' Association's Award for the best publication in pharmaceutical analysis, a publication that was selected from among 230 research papers published so far.
The sustained zeal, perseverance and ardour which characterise Dr R T Sane's performance as a teacher, administrator and research scientist are deserving of the highest praise and compliments. In recognition of his varied achievements, we take great pleasure in honouring him with our most prestigious award and citation.
